From September 21 to 24, tickets for all films showing in Italian cinemas will cost €3.50. The ninth edition of "Cinema in Festa" is getting underway, the industry initiative aimed at encouraging audiences to enjoy films on the big screen through reduced-price tickets for the public. The project is promoted by Anec (National Association of Cinema Exhibitors) and Anica (National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Digital Industries), with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of the David di Donatello - Accademia del Cinema Italiano.
The autumn film programme includes highly anticipated Italian and international titles, among which stand out art house films and features just premiered at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, such as I Figli della Scimmia, The Echo Chamber, Serpenti, Don't Look Back in Anger and Ritorno a Buenos Aires. Also enriching the offering for general audiences will be this summer's major blockbusters, such as Odissea and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The event follows naturally as the conclusion of "Cinema Revolution - Che Spettacolo L'Estate", the wide-ranging campaign supporting the film offering during the summer months. "We are coming off a historic summer, one that marked a genuine turning point for cinema exhibition," noted Anec President Fabrizio Larini in a statement. "The extraordinary numbers from these months show that audiences are fully aware of the value of the big screen experience. With 'Cinema in Festa' we want to celebrate this vitality: four days at just €3.50 per screening, offering everyone the chance to fully experience the immersive world of the cinema, closing the season of major summer blockbusters as we move into an autumn of great new Italian and international titles."
