War against Ukraine: Deaths in Russian attacks on industrial cities
At least four people were killed in Russian attacks on Ukrainian industrial cities. Russia also reports attacks: nearly 300 drones were reportedly intercepted overnight.
According to authorities, at least four people were killed in Russian air strikes on Ukrainian industrial centers in the southeast of the country. Six more people were injured. Dnipro in the east was attacked with rockets, drones and artillery, Governor Oleksandr Hanscha stated on the online service Telegram.
Several buildings were damaged and victims were found beneath the rubble. In addition, power went out for nearly 100,000 people in northern Ukraine following attacks on energy infrastructure, authorities reported.
According to authorities, industrial facilities were also attacked in two other cities in the region, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad.
Attacks reported in Russia
Meanwhile, Russia also reported Ukrainian drone attacks. One person was killed and four others were injured in the Russian Samara region on the Volga, the regional governor announced. The region is home to important oil refineries.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that air defenses destroyed a total of 297 Ukrainian drones overnight across various regions of the country. Ukraine has recently intensified its attacks on Russian territory, primarily targeting oil industry facilities and transportation hubs.
Meeting between Zelensky and Trump
Diplomatic efforts to end the war have yet to produce results. They are set to continue today on the sidelines of the UN General Debate in New York. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will speak with US President Donald Trump.
