Navi Mumbai: A 23-year-old woman had a stillbirth after doctors switched from natural birth to a C-section at a hospital run by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation in Vashi on Sunday. Family members alleged medical negligence and protested outside the hospital. The hospital’s medical superintendent, Dr Ravindra Mhatre, said the baby’s head got stuck in the pelvis during natural birth, which necessitated a switch in procedure. He said all norms were followed. He said the woman had shown no complications in tests prior to childbirth. “The autopsy will reveal the cause of death.”
