Mumbai: On Prime Minister

Narendra Modi’s birthday on Thursday, Union minister for commerce and industry

Piyush Goyal promised to set up 100 Suvidha Kendras providing clean toilets and water, affordable laundry services and open gyms in his Mumbai North parliamentary constituency.

During his visit to his parliamentary constituency, Goyal interacted with women beneficiaries of government schemes and others, and listened to their experiences, aspirations and the impact of welfare and livelihood initiatives on their lives.

Speaking during the interaction, Goyal said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modiji has always taught us that every celebration should become an opportunity for seva. On his birthday, the best way to celebrate is to stand with people, listen to their aspirations and work towards improving their quality of life. Today, our celebrations are about serving families, empowering women and creating opportunities.”

Goyal said that 100 Suvidha Kendras will be set up soon to provide essential civic facilities to citizens at affordable rates. The proposed centres will offer clean toilets, affordable laundry services and access to clean drinking water, providing basic but important facilities, particularly for communities that need them the most.

BJP is conducting a month-long nationwide campaign called ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Modi’s 25 years in top administrative positions — as Gujarat chief minister and subsequently as Prime Minister.
