After the Justice system again rejected former congressman Facundo Moyano's request to lift the restraining order against him so he could reunite with his partner, Candela Arizaga, the ex-deputy's lawyers resigned. Attorneys Alfredo Gascón and Miguel Ángel Molina stepped down from the labor leader's defense due to "irreconcilable differences over defense strategy," as they reported.
Following that decision, Moyano appointed new legal representatives: Alejandro Valle and Darío Saldaño, who assumed responsibility in the case and took on his representation in recent hours.
The case in which the son of truckers' union leader Hugo Moyano is being investigated involves alleged minor injuries and unlawful deprivation of liberty in a context of gender-based violence against his former partner, following the scandalous images that circulated in the early hours of August 4 in the Belgrano neighborhood.
That was when the model appeared running naked along Avenida del Libertador at 5,400 in an apparent state of intoxication, which required the intervention of police and the SAME emergency medical service. As a result of that incident, Moyano was charged and is under investigation.
As part of the precautionary measures, the Prosecutor's Office led by Florencia Nocerez ordered Moyano to maintain a 300-meter restraining order from Arizaga and avoid all contact while the case proceeded.
However, during this week, the former deputy's defense requested that the restriction be lifted and was rejected again this Friday. According to reports, the official grounds are that the investigation remains open.
This week, the case had once again drawn public attention following a photo posted by the model on her Instagram account that suggested she had seen her former partner. After the photo went viral, Justice officials investigated a hotel where Moyano had stayed for 11 days, but there are no records indicating that Arizaga was there.
