A 51-year-old worker died on the job in Polesine, in the lower Parma area, at around 8:30 a.m. He was working at a sand quarry on Strada Argine Maestro del Po when, for reasons yet to be clarified, he was injured while operating next to a piece of machinery, believed to be a hopper. The man's condition appeared desperate from the outset due to severe crush trauma: the intervention of the 118 emergency medical services proved futile, and doctors could only confirm his death. Carabinieri, firefighters and occupational health technicians from the Parma Local Health Authority (Ausl) were on the scene.
