The hearing in which the urgent appeal filed by journalist Sigfrido Ranucci against his removal from hosting the programme Report will be heard has been scheduled for 25 September before the third section of the Rome Labour Court. In the appeal, the journalist's legal team requests "on an immediate basis" to "suspend the thirty-day deadline, expiring on 27 September 2026, assigned to Ranucci by the RAI communication of 28 August for the exercise of the option between the three proposed positions and, until the conclusion of the present precautionary proceedings". The filing also requests "to prohibit RAI from unilaterally proceeding with the assignment to Ranucci" of the positions or from "in any case giving definitive effect to the reallocation procedure". The lawyers are asking the court to "ascertain and declare on a provisional basis the nullity and in any case the illegitimacy of the measure" and to reinstate Ranucci in his "duties as author and host" of the RaiTre programme "immediately and in any case before the start of the new season's broadcasts", scheduled for 8 November.
