"The children of the family in the woods are now detainees. They have trauma, anxiety and conditions certified even by the Court's own consultant. Even in the face of the minors' health, this system has not taken into consideration the need to let them return home. They must be released." This was stated by Michela Vittoria Brambilla, president of the Parliamentary Commission for Childhood and Adolescence, speaking on "Corrente alternata," hosted by Francesco Borgonovo on Giornale Radio.
"I invited the judge who signed the last order, the guardian, the social worker, the members of the foster home and the educators to report to Parliament. They have a duty to come and report to Parliament and to the Italian people what they are doing. They refused, and I find this extremely serious," Brambilla added.
"There is a system that is not working, that of social services," she stated. "If there are situations of direct violence against children, it is clear that social services must intervene and protect them. But that is not the case here. These children are loved incredibly and, beyond the ideological positions of one side or the other, those children are suffering and must be released."
