GENICHESK, October 15. /TASS/. The Kiev government is attempting to secure a respite in military actions by any means necessary in order to reconstitute its military capabilities, the Russian foreign ministry’s Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told the Tavria television channel.
"Today, Kiev is looking for any way to get a pause, a pause in hostilities, without changing its fundamental approaches, without stopping the boundless supply from the West, without stopping the creation of fortifications. In other words, it continues its preparations for continuation of hostilities," Miroshnik said. "Ultimately, Kiev is trying to use every trick available to bargain for this specific pause."
He added that Russia will not accept such an approach.
"Russia rules out any ceasefire scenario that would merely allow Kiev to regroup or retrain [its forces] to continue the conflict. Russia seeks a durable, systemic peaceful settlement," the diplomat continued.
He added, however, that Russia has never closed the door to negotiations and halting the bloodshed.
